The History of Rosehill Christian School

Rosehill Christian School was founded in 1990. Prior to 1990, Rosehill Christian School was a ministry of Boys’ and Girls’ Country in Hockley, Texas. Mr. and Mrs. T. A. Robinson founded a Christian school on their campus to minister to students who lived at Boys’ and Girls’ Country. Students from the surrounding community were invited to enroll as well. When Boys’ and Girls’ Country chose to send their students to public school, a group of parents formed a board and became a non-profit Organization with a vision. Rosehill Christian School and its new board were allowed to rent a building on the Girls’ Country campus for two years. Finally, the school was faced with providing their own facilities, and by faith, a board member placed money down on 15 acres located about six miles west of Tomball, Texas on F.M. 2920. Through prayer and earnestly seeking God’s design for RCS, the parents and board members maintained a vision for the future.

During the 1990-1991 school year, Dr. James White was named administrator of Rosehill Christian School. The 501C3 was processed, a Founders Club was established, the By-Laws were established and approved and property was leased from Girls’ Country. The first edition of a school newsletter called “The Lion’s Roar” was printed.

This first year Rosehill Christian School chose the Bible Verse, Isaiah 40:31 “But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”

“Our School Mascot changed from the lion to the eagle. We thought we’d have a new verse each year, but it seems that the Lord has continued to carry us on eagle's wings, as it were, now the verse has become our permanent promise of His care and guidance for Rosehill Christian School.” - Dr. Linda Flower
